Hair Dying Exclusive: Lead Acetate

                                                                        Hey Earth’s Enrichers

Okay Earth’s Enrichers, it’s Easter this weekend—let’s talk about the dye! Not for your eggs this year but for your hair. That’s right, maybe this year you may swap out the eggs for the hair on your dome and still end up making beautiful masterpieces. And we mean masterpieces that are also safe and healthy for your hair.

You guys know the steps for dying your hair, don’tcha? Like say for instance you used an All You Need Deep Cleansing Shampoo bar to cleanse your hair before dying, right? *buzzer noise* Wrong! You actually want to dye your hair before washing it or getting it wet. It helps the color stick! Then rinse gently until excess color is gone. Then, when you are tired of the color, if it is temporary, you can wash it out with the All You Need hair care products.

We at EE inspire you to be creative while sharing with you important facts to do so safely. So, what’s lead acetate?

Lead acetate is a detrimental crystal-like compound that, when ingested, produces a sugary taste. It can be found in sweeteners that substitute sugar and cosmetics like hair dye/coloring. Some of the side effects that lead acetate can produce are below:
• Irritation to the eyes
• Respiratory tract issues
• Headache
• Nausea and vomiting
• Colic
• Constipation
• Dizziness
• Loss of consciousness
• Depression
…For more information go to CBS News.

There are some that have determined that if the FDA allowed it to be in certain cosmetics like hair dye on such a minor scale, that it may not be dangerous if used properly. If you concur with the skeptics, please take precaution. Only use the product on hair (externally) and make sure that it does not seep into your blood stream via scrape or open sore on the head. We don’t recommend using products with lead acetate—why take the risk?—it is important to play it safe and careful.

Needless to say, we recommend that you pay close attention when dying your “Easter Egg” (for some of you who didn’t get that we meant hair ^-^). Feel free to express yourself but do so by supporting products that care about your health or won’t risk it, use safe/organic/all-natural ingredients, and who don’t use skeptical ingredients.

The EE 411: The History of Lead Acetate

Lead acetate has actually played an interesting role in our history:
 Pope Clement II, who died in October 1047, was rumored to have been poisoned. Later, toxicology reports (mid-20th century) confirm this possible truth.
 Albert Christoph, a German painter, composer, and biographer; inadvertently swallowed a bit of lead acetate and never fully recovered.
 Another rumor, this time about the infamous Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven may have died from minute concentrations of lead acetate in contaminated wine—the mystery remains.

In all seriousness and history, lead acetate has played many roles in cosmetics, in mysterious deaths, and, even, medicine and industry. To better understand lead acetate, its history, and how to avoid it; we invite you to do scrupulous research.

As always, we here at EE want the best for you, your hair/skin care, and your health. You deserve the best without risk!

Welcome Back to Spring …Cleaning

Hey Earth’s Enrichers

Welcome to the first week of spring, are you excited? We have to say, this transition from winter to spring has been a little odd if you ask us. So, we are definitely ready for the sunshine, flowers, and spring rain to help clean away the remnants of winter!

Oh, and speaking of cleaning—are you prepared for the season of cleanly maintenance? Spring cleaning is in this season! This is the time of year for yard sales, floor busting cleaning, and redecorating. This is the time to pick a sunny day and get busy. And, you know, spring cleaning has both physical and mental benefits. Not only does cleaning help keep you fit but it helps rid your home of irritants that may have accumulated over the winter.

As you clean, we recommend that you incorporate dusting, vacuuming, air duct cleaning and shampooing (the rugs) to aid in getting rid of any allergens that may irritate your skin like animal hair, dandruff, dust mites, or dead skin cells. Also, changing the bedding, often as you know, can help eliminate those irritants (mites, crumbs, dead skins cells, etc.).

Furthermore, keep the windows open while cleaning to bring in fresh air while dusting and vacuuming so you aren’t inhaling irritating particles or getting too many of those particles in your hair. Last but certainly not least, wearing gloves, scarfs, and protective gear will help keep whatever you’re cleaning out of your hair, lungs, and eyes. Warning: watch out for any critters that may have moved in during the winter, Ick!

Besides actual cleaning, spring cleaning is also about revitalizing a healthier you not just tidying up your place. Winter is the season of keeping warm and staying cooped up in the house but spring is the time to stretch! Release the cob webs and take in a deep breath because spring cleaning is really all about stress relief.

Remember, what Feng Shui means?
Feng Shui is all about harmonizing with your surroundings. In some cases, that means readjusting your surroundings or tapping into your creative side. Creativity or even being active can help release pressure and anxiety. Doing things like cleaning or redecorating gives you something to do— in addition to be a type of fitness or exercise—and when you have finished your spring task there is a big sense of accomplishment or relief. Spring is like an open door to get away or change what needs changing whether it’s your surroundings or your actions!

So, now that the sunshine lasts longer and the weather is looking a lot nicer, enjoy some time outside or redecorate and clean—release your creative side! Spring cleaning is for the heart, mind, body, and soul; not just for keeping your environment clean.

The EE 411: Soul Spring Cleaning Tips

We encourage you to carpe diem or seize the day. Take some time to whoosa and harmonize with your surroundings while enjoying what spring has to offer. By this we mean:

        • Taking a walk in the park.
        • Or if the weather isn’t quite the right temp. for you, go to a room in your house and open all blinds and curtains. Find a place to be peaceful.
        • Meditate both indoors and out.
        • Take up some Yoga, which can also be an indoors or outdoors activity.
        • For actual Spring Cleaning, make it a party—put on some music and dance the mess away.
        • Take a break from the video games that have sustained you during winter and go outside and play.

These are just a few examples but we hope we can give you an idea of what we mean and where to start. We want to leave you with this today: Have fun this spring and don’t worry so much. The world isn’t expecting you to be perfect so it will settle for your best! Take care of yourself, your health, and your happiness—you deserve it!

Hair Growth: Tips & Alternatives—No Tricks!

Hey Earth’s Enrichers

Healthy Hair Growth

Hair Growth Oil

As we all know, hair can be a thought on everybody’s mind. Last week we talked about getting your scalp comfortable by reducing the itchiness/inflammation in your favorite hair-dos, but how do we make your hair grow?

We know that short hair styles are all the rage, but there are some of us who want to grow thick and long hair. Since hair growth can’t be forced, we often look for tricks and tips to help it grow. Although we here at EE can’t give you tricks to help it grow, we can give you tips and healthy ways to take care of your hair and foster growth.

Hair Growth Oil
Hair Growth Oil

As we did our research, we found a variety of means and ways to make hair longer but what about healthy? Health is important to helping hair maintain itself and, in some aspects, making it grow. For certain, if it is constantly damaged with too much heat, over washing, and chemicals, then it may never realize its full potential. Also, hair type is all about genetics (determines thickness, length, color, and texture) and the way you maintain (for instance: washing it, using supplements, or using natural oils). The best way to get hair to grow and to find out how long it’s capable of growing is to keep it healthy.

We would like to provide you with five tips to help you realize your hair’s true potential:
1. Do your research! As you are looking up your tricks and tips, make sure that you are picking routines that will maintain your hair’s health as much as it says it will make your hair grow. Also, take a moment and research each ingredient to find out if it is truly helpful with hair growth and hair health.
2. Consult a professional and/or make sure sources are reliable. When you find a routine that you think will work for you, consult an expert, read reviews, and ask around to see if it has been tried.
3. Be Patient! When you do your research and find a routine that is healthy for your hair, then give it time to work. Results won’t show overnight.
4. Be realistic! Remember genetics are also a factor in hair type and growth rate; although there are oils known to aid in growth and strengthening hair they may not always be enough. Also different methods work for different people.
5. Last, but certainly not least. Do what is best for you always!

Well, those are the tips but we aren’t finished yet! We want to leave you with a healthy alternative that maintains hair health and may aid in hair growth. We would like to introduce you to the final product in our “All You Need” Hair Care Collection – Hair Growth Oil. Our USDA Certified Organic Hair Growth Oil is the premier Hair Growth Oil. Enriched with Sunflower Oil, it has “All You Need” for shinier, stronger, and healthier hair. And, of course, it’s made with certified organic and natural ingredients; this oil is not heavy and will not weigh your hair down.

The EE 411: The Magic Behind the Scenes – Hair Growth Oil

Although hair growth is a natural element and can be difficult to control, we’ve incorporated ingredients into our Hair Growth Oil that are known to aid hair growth and maintain the health of your hair. We hope you enjoy it and its benefits in addition to the rest of our hair care line, which also incorporate healthy ingredients!

Hair Health – The Rate Hair Grows

Hey Earth’s Enrichers!

Every once in a while we feature a post from another blog which peaks our interest and that we think may peak yours as well.  This week’s blog was created by Natural Nicole and it provides you with great information regarding hair growth and hair loss.  We hope that you enjoy it!

Our hair usually grows at least six inches a year but it could grow more than six inches a year when you factor in DNA and your diet.  This means the average rate of hair growth in a month is ½ inch per month, which means our hair is constantly growing!

Three major things can have a negative effect on how our hair grows and can cause it to slow down they are:

1. Medications

2. Stress

3. Unhealthy Diet

4. Sleep Deprivation

If you notice your hair is not growing or the rate of growth has slowed down look into the things listed above and try to work on that area.

Ways you can prevent breakage or hair loss is by implementing the following:

1. Eat Healthy

2. Cut back on your caffeine intake

3. Don’t over use heat

4. Make sure to massage your scalp

5. Be gentle when combing your hair

6. Make sure to deep condition your hair

7. Avoid protein overload

8. Get your ends trimmed

9. Don’t over condition your hair

10.Use a Sulfate Free Shampoo

11.Wear Protective Styles

12.Always wear a satin bonnet to bed

13.Don’t braid your hair tight

14.Try and keep your hands out of your hair in other words don’t play in your hair

15. Seal in the Moisture with a good oil and keep your hair moisturized

I think that you will have a healthy hair journey with a successful growth rate if you take heed to the things I listed above!
