The EE Spring Agenda: A Royal Spa Treatment

Hey Earth’s Enrichers – Let’s Exfoliate!

Exfoliate
Exfoliate

As spring gradually approaches, let’s do some spring-time prep! As we have already mentally prepared ourselves for the new weather, we should also prepare our skin. So break out the organic, all-natural, and healthy skin care products for an in-house royal spa treatment…deluxe!

Speaking of spa treatments, we think Calming Spa Seaweed might be a perfect example of a product to use for a royal spring spa day. Before we get more into why Calming Spa is a perfect example, we have an agenda:

1. Exfoliate
2. Cleanse
3. Moisturize
4. Emerge as Royalty

As we mentioned before, Calming Spa Seaweed is a perfect example (similar to Lavender of the Valley and Lemon Fresh Shea) because it is one of our products that can meet every point on the EE agenda. But, again, we’ll get into that later! Each step on our agenda is important for transforming your winter skin to radiant spring skin.

First things first, exfoliate. Wait, isn’t exfoliating after cleansing? Not exactly– you want to remove the dead skin to effectively rid your body of impurities. After exfoliating with the sugar scrubs, move onto the body bar, which is number 2 on the EE agenda. Using a combination of the bar and your favorite cleansing utensil, lather and lightly scrub your skin. When you exfoliate, you’re removing a dermis or layer of skin to reveal a softer almost new layer of skin. Please be mindful that scrubbing newly exfoliated skin roughly may cause irritation. Although many people prefer to exfoliate in the shower, it can also be done as you take a nice soothing bath.

Before we move on to number 3 on our agenda, there is an optional 2.5 step that we do recommend. Number 2.5 on the agenda is a leisurely soak in bath salts. Hey, exfoliating and cleansing is hard work—you deserve a much needed break. Prepare your tub for a round of soaking. Allow the deliciously warm water to wash over you and the toxins to fade away…relax. Take as long as you’d like—light a candle. Let us know when you’re ready to move on to number 3 on the agenda; we’ll wait.

…are you ready?

Next, shower and rinse the residual salt and impurities from your body. Grab a soft warm towel and lightly dab or gently dry your skin. Remember, this is your new spring skin—it’s almost like a baby’s.

Now number 3 on the agenda is to apply your favorite body balm i.e. moisturize. Watch as the balm brings out your skin’s radiance. Earlier, we used Calming Spa Seaweed as an example of a perfect spa product. The reason why is because we want you to keep the flavor of your spa day consistent. Calming Spa Seaweed, Lavender of the Valley, and Lemon Fresh Shea all have identical body bars, body balms, bath salts, and sugar scrubs. Almost made especially for spa days, right?

Now last but certainly not least, grand number 4 on our agenda. If you would kindly step over to the mirror and say the magic words, Mirror, who is the most radiant of them all?” It’s okay if you whisper back and say you are. ^-^

There, agenda is complete—you have officially finished EE’s version of a royal spa treatment.

We always treat our Earth’s Enrichers the way we want to be treated and a royal spa treatment to get your skin radiant for the spring is definitely what you deserve!

So, now that the sunshine lasts longer and the weather is looking a lot nicer, enjoy some time outside or redecorate and clean—release your creative side! Spring cleaning is for the heart, mind, body, and soul; not just for keeping your environment clean.

Health and Living – Getting Rid of Bugs

Lemongrass

Hey Earth’s Enrichers

It seems like summer has brought along a few unwanted guests—it is the season of bugs. The bees, the flies, and mosquitos are at their best so let us get you some useful tools to stay ahead of the game. No one likes unwanted pests invading their home, car, or personal space so pay close attention.

Public Enemy #1: Bees and Wasps

Bees and wasps are two totally different species with very different agendas. Wasps seem to have no purpose and are the meanest things in the world—their objective is to protect their territory and once seen should be dealt with immediately. Bees have a tendency to keep to themselves and want to produce honey, others have a ridiculous obsession with wood and those are called wood carpenter bees.

When dealing with carpenter bees there is the brave way and the cautious way. If you have a house with a wooden frame, a carpenter bee may be drawn to it. These bees oddly hoover around the area in which they are interested. They have all black bottoms without yellow. Like all bees and wasps, they are inactive at night, so the cautious way to deal with them is to spray citrus scents around the areas you have seen them hovering. Then block any area you have seen as a possible entryway.

Alternatively, if you are just fed up and having a bad day, they make good targets for badminton and tennis rackets—of course, this is the brave way. Their hovering habit makes them good and easy targets, lay a heavy firm swat on them to take ‘em out. Just so you know, we do not recommend you do that because the repercussions are a good stinging. We recommend that you use the citrus spray and block off all entrances to the frame of your house.

Citrus spray also works well on bumblebees and wasps—it only works as a blockade not an instant killer. Spraying the bees or wasps directly will only make it mad so do not do it! Spraying early in the morning around your house should keep them from wanting to come near. In addition, cogging any area you believe they are entering. We strongly recommend calling a professional to deal with them if natural repellants do not help.

Public Enemy #2: Mosquitoes

Remember, when dealing with mosquitoes, lemongrass does the trick to help keep them away because of the citronella. Most bugs cannot stand anything citrus or citronella based. Using our lemongrass body balm will help fight off the bugs and keep them away—sweet right!

Public Enemy #3: Flies

Flies are one of the most disgusting creatures on earth and the best way to deal with them is keeping the area of your house clean, garbage-free, and feces-free. Second, plants like lavender and mint tend to fend them off. So a little mint oil and lavender candles burning around the house are a nice and comfortable way to keep them at bay. Oddly enough, flies hate vodka. If you happen to have some lying around you can fill a sponge with it, place it in a bag, and hang it or place it strategically around your home but out of the reach of children. If vodka is not the route for you then lemongrass and cloves also repel flies.

The EE 411: Safety First

When it comes to these nuisances, there are simple things we can do to make life with them easy. Trying some of these natural methods may make a big difference when summer comes around. Please do not put yourself in harm’s way or at any risk. If it is something you cannot handle, call a professional and use safety precautions until then. Especially if you are allergic to some of these pests and many of these critters can be dangerous aside from allergens. Always keep your health and safety in mind!

Organic Skin Care on the Rise?

Organic Skin Care on the Rise
Top Quality Products

Dear Earth’s Enrichers

Over the years products, like skin care, have been made with the idea of efficiency and effectiveness. It had to work properly, which meant actually cleaning or moisturizing the hair or the skin, for example.  To do this, some companies used chemically made substances that fulfilled the product’s primary purposes.

These products were also made to have a powerful, yet delightful smell of the customer’s choosing. Usually these scents were made from affordable and easily acquired materials like artificial scents which can be chemically based as well. The sort of ingredients that these companies turned to can have latent and sometimes extreme effects on the skin. Also, the customers could be allergic to these chemicals without knowing it.

To test the safety of these products for human beings, some companies turned to animal testing. That meant if the product was not safe for humans, then, well, you know what would happen. Over the years, research and discovery have linked certain skin care problems/health risks to certain chemicals in skin care like parabens, sulfates, etc.

Individuals also began to become concerned about their skin health. Noticing that some products they used seemed to only further worsen some conditions like eczema or create extremely dry skin. Thus, a need for products that contained better solutions for getting the job done became apparent.

Organic and all-natural skin care became a better solution for cleanliness and other needs, offering products that not only aid your skin with some irritants, but also keep and maintain its healthiness. For instance, oatmeal can help relieve the irritation of eczema.

So if you’re wondering why organic skin care is important and how it became so popular, think about the secure feeling you have washing your child in all-natural, organic, and safe ingredients that support your child’s skin and help keep it healthy. Or imagine the peace of mind you may have knowing that you don’t have to worry about the possible adverse effects of sulfates when you’re bathing with rosemary mint or chai tea. It’s a wonderful feeling, isn’t it?

The EE 411:

There are a whole lot of options now-a-days to find products that are all-natural or organic. There are blogs, websites, and whole companies dedicated to putting your needs first, like here at EE. There are also options and information out there that can give you alternatives in relaxation, hair care and skin care.

The best alternatives to helping maintain your health are eating well and exercising. Eating well pertains to taking in foods that will benefit your skin, hair, and internal health. Exercising helps regulate your body and keeps your body active. This maintains weight and emotional/mental health as well.

Take care of your body inside and out. Listen to your body and discover its likes and dislikes. Doing this could help you maintain/achieve great health. Of course, regularity is important too—no matter how much you may hate it.

Share with Us: Describe your stories and experiences with organic or all-natural skin care products.

Organic Skin Care 101

Organic Skin Care 101

Welcome Back Earth’s Enrichers! The school year has officially started and it’s time for some fun and beneficial skincare education. Don’t worry, we won’t lecture you, but let’s look at why we do what we do to our skin. So, let’s begin, why is skincare important? Seriously! Let’s think about it.

There are certain regiments that we practice as our signature skincare routine.  Although it’s not always in the same order, we cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize, apply sunscreen, use shaving cream when shaving, and wash our hair. Have you ever thought about what happened if we didn’t do some of these things?

If we didn’t perform healthy skincare practices, we would weaken our most prominent protection against the environment (not to mention we’d be quite smelly as well). Proper skin care helps strengthen our body’s largest organ. For instance, if we don’t clean our skin we leave it exposed to germs, infections, and bacteria that could break our skin out. This could also cause long term damage.

During the course of the next few weeks, we will talk more in depth with you about the importance of the following skin rituals: cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, applying sunscreen, the pros and cons of using shaving cream while shaving, and washing our hair.

The EE 411

Although skincare is quite important, it can be too much of a good thing. Say you love peanut butter and you eat it every day, sooner or later you will begin to rethink your desire. The same goes for over cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, applying sunscreen, shaving and even washing your hair in some cases. By overdoing even one of these things you could irritate or damage your skin. The key is knowing your skin and how to balance your regiment.

Tell Us: What are some of your skincare routines that you can’t live without? For instance, moisturizing your hands before you go to bed.
